Do you see a doctor for a ingrown toenail?
For a long time i’ve had so much pain in my in my toes i though it was my shoes causing the pain i went through a lot of shoes then i showed my sis and she said it was gout i kept crying about it and she took a look it again and said it was ingrown toenail i nrver realized they were so painful what can i do with out going to doctor does anybody know what im talking about?

admin answers:
Yes. I’ve had quite a few ingrown toenails and they can really hurt!
I never went to a doctor but instead treated them myself by gently lifting up the nail and clipping the sharp pointy edge of the toenail off(where it pokes into your skin and only a tiny amount). Don’t cut too much off as it will grow back ingrown again and you need the toenail.
Next, tightly roll up a small amount of cotton wool until it’s about an inch long and gently place under the toenail corner.
This will help ease the pressure of the toenail cutting into your skin and relieve the pain.

Carol asks…
Cause of knee and foot pain?
OK. I have this bad pain that keeps moving on me it seems like every 2-3 days. It was in my left knee for a couple of weeks. Then it moved over to the back and side of my right knee and ligaments around the knee. Now it is centered on the top of my right foot and the pain is especially bad in the heel of my right foot. I no longer have insurance so I haven’t been to the doctor. I’ve been diagnosed with gout in the past, but it usually remains in the ball and big toe of my foot. Does anyone know what could possibly be causing this weird movement of pain in my knees and feet?

admin answers:
My guess would be that you are walking strangely to reduce the pain in your knee, which is causing the pain to “move” to other areas as you damage those places with your changed gait. As to what caused or is causing the initial pain, you really need to see a doctor for that.

Paul asks…
Do I have Gout? What do you know about Gout?
Im 25 year old female, im of normal weight, I don’t really eat red meat, maybe 2 times a year. I stubbed my toe really bad about three months back. It blew up, turned black and blue and two days later was fine. I must have done something over the weekend that irritated it again..Its so painful, i went to the doctor, they did an x-ray and he said if I dont have a fracture, I may have Gout? Yet all the reading my boyfriend and I have done I don’t fit what causes it. Most are men or really overweight people. He sent my x-rays to a foot specialist so they can really determine the problem…Do you know anything about gout? i’m just kind of worried..Thanks!

admin answers:
It sounds like you could possibly have gout. Some people are naturally prone to getting gout and injury could bring on an attack.
Does it feel like sand in your joint?
My husband’s toe gets really big and swollen and turns colors too when he gets a flare up.
